Anne Conduit
I was a mathematical computer consultant until I had to retired due to ill health. I have a condition that means my optic nerve is degenerating with time. This was fascinating because as we talked the pictures made more sense and my imagination "filled" in the detail of my original visual thoughts.have had vision difficulties detectable in early childhood and was registered blind in the 1990s. It was thought to be a recessive genetic condition. I can see vague shapes but no detail. My vision is largely a feat of imagination including objects and colours. It is devoid of real life detail and hues. From a visual context, I need others to describe what I miss seeing, especially giving me clues as to what the real world looks like. I am helped around by a guide dog.
I've never had a gift for painting or drawing but I am creative in the field of craft. My main craft projects have included tatting (a form of lace making), crochet and needlepoint. I have submitted 2 pieces of crochet for the exhibition.

I've also been working with Lindsey Whitelaw describing to her what I made of 3 of her original pieces; Iomani, Workshop and Blue Trees.
From this exhibition, firstly, I am interested as to what others think my world is and then contrasting this to what others see. I guess it is the difference between a photo and a bit of artwork. I love images and spend a lot of my life dreaming!
