PERCEPTIONS OUT OF SIGHT
Michael Boswell
Part One
Can you see the sun?
It is warming my face
Can you see the sea?
I can hear the waves and I can taste the salty air
Can you see the trees waving in the wind?
I can hear the leaves rustling
Can you see the flowers?
They smell wonderful
Part Two
If you see me and call to me, forgive me if I ask who you are, even if I know you. I may know your voice but equally I may not recognise your face
If I can’t see you, talk to me, it will help me find you and I will listen
I appreciate help, but on my terms – please do not force me in any particular direction, let me take your arm. Make sure you are guiding me to where I want to go; make no assumptions – ask!
Part Three:
Should I come close to catch your scent
If I may touch you to feel your warmth,
and hold you to sense your heartbeat -
Perhaps even kiss to taste your lips.
