GROWTH SERIES

These back and white photographs were printed by layering two negatives on top of one another: one of a book, and one of plants and trees.
1. A ghostly image of an open book, pages spread like the wings of a bird in flight, floats in front of a shadowy tree, with branches that fan out, echoing the shape of the bird-like book.
2. An open book, laid on a stone pedestal in a garden, appears to have ivy growing through it, bursting out from its centre and entangling the book in amongst all the other plant life around.
